New Supplier.io Capabilities to Advance Your Sourcing Strategy

The latest updates to the Supplier.io platform improve data collection, sharpen supplier search outputs, and help teams convey the effectiveness of their program in new ways.

Throughout the past year, procurement, supplier diversity, and supply chain teams have emphasized three consistent needs: better data, easier sourcing, and stronger tools to communicate program success.

Supplier.io’s recent platform updates were shaped by that feedback and support those needs directly. Here’s a look at what’s new to the platform to help teams manage their programs with greater clarity, confidence, and effectiveness.

Collect the information you need from suppliers

Accurate supplier data is essential for sourcing, evaluation, and reporting. We have updated our platform to improve how teams gather registration information from suppliers.

Invite groups of suppliers to register

Teams can now invite multiple suppliers to register at once with custom messages built directly within the platform. With one message and just a few clicks, you can now connect directly with hundreds of suppliers to capture even more information.

Collect registrations at events using QR codes

Teams can now create and manage event registration codes directly within Explorer, making it easier to coordinate sourcing events and track participation.

Event lists now display all suppliers tied to an event, including those who are registered, incomplete, or pending, along with the contact information for the user who initiated the registration. This provides clearer visibility for follow-up and outreach.

Capture more qualified submissions

When buyers make their portals discoverable, suppliers now have a faster, automated path to register and provide the detailed information required for evaluation using data from previous submissions. This streamlined experience ensures buyers receive more high-quality registration submissions, but also helps suppliers complete their profiles more reliably.

Find new suppliers that fit your priorities

As more leaders are focusing on promoting supplier discovery and vetting as key elements of their supplier diversity program, we wanted to make this easier and more data-driven. Our latest enhancements give teams a more precise and reliable path from exploration to evaluation.

Updated filters for NAICS code and location

The updated filtering experience now aligns more closely with how sourcing teams evaluate suppliers. Users can refine search results by:

  • New two-digit NAICS codes for broad exploration
  • More detailed four- and six-digit NAICS strings for precise, category-level alignment
  • Country and regional filters with new support for multi-selection

These enhancements help teams move from a wide market scan to a well-aligned shortlist based on category, geography, and program needs, while improving confidence in the quality of the results.

Find more small suppliers globally

Supplier.io now uses enhanced firmographics to identify potential small businesses that may not have a certification or self-certification on file. By applying this classification to suppliers across the database, teams gain:

  • Clearer visibility into small suppliers that may otherwise be missed
  • A stronger starting point for small business discovery, especially in global markets

Suppliers who meet regional definitions of a small business are tagged as “Supplier.io Identified Small,” and new Explorer filters make it easy to focus on this group.

Find more small suppliers by geography

Our map-based search tool, Market Analyzer, now provides a more focused, relevant geographic view to support regional sourcing decisions. Updates include:

  • A default view that highlights small suppliers first without requiring any filter adjustments.
  • Improved map views that make supplier concentrations, geographic gaps, and regional patterns easier to see.
  • Admin controls that allow teams to hide category or ethnicity breakouts that are not relevant to their strategy.

These updates make Market Analyzer more intuitive, more focused, and more useful for teams evaluating regional availability and identifying new areas where suppliers may be needed.

Establish benchmarks for your small supplier spend

With more focus on small supplier spend, we’ve updated our Benchmarking data as well.  Teams can now access updated small business benchmarks that compare performance across industries, regions, and organizational peers. These enhancements help teams:

  • Identify areas where performance is above or below peer averages
  • Support strategic planning with clearer, data-driven insights
  • Communicate progress internally and externally with greater confidence

Put these capabilities to work for your program
